Station 01: Kuala Lumpur - Day One
As a foreign traveler,
the first choice of exotic vacations is definitely the capital city in the
selected country. Hence, my first station in Malaysia is Kuala Lumpur.
Hello, Kuala Lumpur! Hello, the cultural, financial and economic center of Malaysia!

Upon arrival of Kuala Lumpur, I need
to drop my luggage first. The hotel I selected is KLoé Hotel, a boutique hotel located
in the center of Kuala Lumpur. This is an amazing hotel which I highly
recommended, the detailed information listed at the end of this article.
Since I do not rent a car in
Malaysia, I can only choose public transportations. Luckily, there are several
options, and KL Hop-on Hop-off City Tour is absolutely a wonderful choice. It allows
me to hop on and hop off the bus whenever and wherever at a total of 23 stops in
Kuala Lumpur. It runs from 09:00 to 20:00 daily at 30 minutes intervals, which
is tourist-friendly. Below is the related information, together with the tour
map from the official website. You may check with the official website to get the more detailed
information regarding to prices, promotions and services offered.
Ticket price: RM27 (Adult) RM15 (Child)

Tips: Earphones will be offered
together with the purchased ticket, and 8 languages of commentary services can
be chosen during the city tour.

Based on the tour map above, I have planned
my two-day trip in Kuala Lumpur!
Tourist route - Day One:
Lot 10 - Masjid Jamek - Sultan Abdul
Samad Building - Merdeka Square – Kuala Lumpur City Gallery - Suria KLCC
- Petronas Twin Towers
Lot 10
Address: 50, Bukit Bintang St,
Bukit Bintang, 55100 Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur
Operation time: 10:00 – 22:00
Contact number: 03-2141 0500
Website: www.lot10.com.my
First thing first, I need to grab
some food to start my trip. Since my hotel is at the center of Kuala Lumpur, it
is very easy for me to reach the well-known shopping mall, Lot 10. Food court
in Lot 10 Hutong, was highly recommended by a famous Singaporean-born Hong Kong
columnist and food critic, Chua Lam, in 2009. It offers relatively affordable Kuala
Lumpur local street food.
Hokkien Mee - Kim Lian Kee
Beef
Brisket Noodle - Ho Weng Kee
After finished my breakfast, I was
heading to the Bukit Bintang Kiosk to purchase the KL Hop-on Hop-off ticket and
jumped into the bus to start my trip.
Masjid Jamek
Address: Jalan Tun Perak, City
Centre, 50050 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur

16:00, Friday 11:00 – 14:30 closed
Contact number: 03-2691 2829
Masjid Jamek is my second stop
today. It is one of the oldest mosques in Kuala Lumpur. The mosque was built in
1909 and designed by Arthur Benison Hubback. In my personal opinion, it is the
most beautiful mosque in Kuala Lumpur. The entrance ticket is free but check in
is compulsory. For visitors, it is required to dress properly, attires are
offered to rent at the entrance.

Lumpur City Centre, 50050 Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur
Operation time: 24 hours
Contact number: 03-2267 8910
After 2-minute walking from Masjid Jamek, I reached Sultan Abdul Samad Building, a late-nineteenth century building. It used to house the superior courts of Malaysia before they moved to Putrajaya. Although it no longer serves an official purpose, it remains one of the city’s most important tourist attractions and a historical landmark. Visitors are not allowed to go inside, I can only take some pictures around.

Merdeka Square
Address: Jalan Raja, City
Centre, 50050 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur
Operation time: 24 hours
Contact number: 03-2693 7905
It took one-minute walk from Sultan
Abdul Samad Building to Merdeka Square. Truth is, it is right in front of the Sultan
Abdul Samad Building. Merdeka Square is the usual venue for the annual Merdeka
Parade, which is to celebrate their independence.

Entrance ticket: RM10
Opposite to the Merdeka Square is Kuala
Lumpur City Gallery, a must stop in Kuala Lumpur City. It is actually a tourist
information center, but an instagramable iconic structure, I ♥ KL, attracts
numerous tourists every day.
Suria KLCC

Lumpur City Centre, 50088 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur

Couple hours of historic trip ended,
I have enjoyed enough tourist attractions and sunshine. Time to go back to find
some nice food and beverages. Suria KLCC, the 6-storey shopping mall, planted
at the foot of the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur City Center. It is a
premier and the most iconic shopping mall in Malaysia.

Ground, Kuala Lumpur City Centre, 50088 Kuala Lumpur
Operation time: 09:00 – 21:00, Monday

Before finishing today’s trip, I took
pictures of Petronas Twin Towers, both in daylight and night. They are twin
skyscrapers in Kuala Lumpur City, and they were the tallest buildings in the
world from 1998 to 2004. They are the landmark of Kuala Lumpur, and also
Malaysia.
